TravKenpo ::: Favorites Yeah so do I!!! Inside Elvis is the real story about the King of Rock n Roll!!!! 07-09-06 19:31:22 __________________________________________________
AlienZygote010 ::: Favorites You don't go to some one's school as a master. You go as a student. So Bruce Lee did study under Ed Parker if he was teaching Lee or at least demonstrating. Want proof? He knew nothing about French Savate before he traveled to France. I've seen pictures of him being taught moves. Further, Bruce Lee was a respectful guy and very polite to any one who wold have him as a guest. I doubt He would have gone to any school holding up his own ego and achievements. He was a humble man. 07-09-05 15:43:07 __________________________________________________
StaceyJ123 ::: Favorites I can agree with what you have written here. My problem is with Speakman claiming that "Bruce Lee studied with Ed Parker," as if there was a teacher-student relationship with Bruce as the student. Exchanging ideas is a whole different thing, and Bruce did that with practically every serious martial artist he met. Jhoon Rhee, Danny Inosanto, etc. 07-09-02 15:47:38 __________________________________________________
riesma1980 ::: Favorites And that's where Ed Parker comes in. Parker and Lee exchanged a lot of knowledge of martial arts. Also the inverse is true, kenpo is influenced by Bruce. Kenpo is based upon the same ideas as Jeet Kune Do (Bruce's fighting 'system' - he did not call it a system). It did not bond itself to traditional styles/systems, but only implemented what is practical an usefull, and still develops today. 07-09-02 15:08:51 __________________________________________________
StaceyJ123 ::: Favorites This guy claims that Bruce Lee studied with Ed Parker and was heavily influenced by Kenpo? I'd love to see him support that claim. Bruce did a demo at Parker's tournament and that's about it. Lee studied Wing Chun under Yip Man as a kid and later dissociated himself from "the classical mess" of traditional martial arts. 07-09-02 14:58:48 __________________________________________________
phantomempire ::: Favorites Mr.Parker is a Legend !!I have a copy of his book he wrote about his friendship with ELVIS! Ed writes a very sincere and honest look at the King ,Great book!!! from a great man .. 07-09-02 02:07:51 __________________________________________________
TravKenpo ::: Favorites You say gay because you have hard feeling from your daddy, grandpas and uncles stick it to you as a child!! 07-08-28 18:36:42 __________________________________________________ |
