edgewaters72 2008-03-25 13:12:15 The reason is because the word used for "God" in Genesis in the Septuagint is "Elohim". "Elohim" is plural, it is not "God" it is "gods". __________________________________________________
biblegirl7 2008-03-20 22:57:34 I think a lot of it has to do with where you are in the world. Predominant beliefs are in different countries. And in the U.S., there are different Christian denominations because a few people decided they disagreed on a tiny percentage of one denomination's beliefs, and started another one. And then there are others that have just taken scriptures out of context and created something so different that it resembles a cult. __________________________________________________
leedsninja 2008-03-19 18:42:10 I did notice that. Ever wonder why there are so many different religions? I have wondered for quite some time about it. __________________________________________________
biblegirl7 2008-03-19 01:26:22 I believe Jehovah's Witnesses are the only one's who believe that. At least that's what I found on their web site a long time ago. They use the same theory for John 1:1. Here's how basically ALL Christian bibles read. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." And here's how their bible reads. "Originally the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god." Their bible is the New World Translation. Notice the key word that was added? __________________________________________________
leedsninja 2008-03-18 19:48:22 Come, Let us make men in our image. Some people use that sentence to say that there is more than one god. Thank you for giving me something to say back to them. Pure awesomeness. __________________________________________________ |
