We don't know the details, so even though it might look like overkill to you, it could have been entirely necessary.

We are trying to form a new government, if we left it'd be chaos. I do agree though, the way things look, we are just destroying the country. Things can only get better, they can't get any worse.

Well lets try and use our fucking heads here...ever have someone trying to kill you? Probably not, cuz your probably just another fucker whos never seen combat and has alot to say about it....when you're under fire, you don't care it its a fucking H-bomb used to eliminate the threat.

ive been stabbed before so yeh ive had someone try to kill me, but ive not been under fire but im sure one airstrike would of killed enough and stunned the rest then you open fire, my dad was a sergeant in the army in the falklands conflict.

the only difference between this and an IED is that it fell from the sky, otherwise its the same, people watching and waiting for it to go off, Americans laugh and Iraqis shout Allah Akba.... I suppose that is the other difference

Another difference is that dropping a bomb on enemy fighters is not in any way morally equivalent to driving a car filled with explosives into a market filled with people and detonating it, with the intentional purpose of killing innocent people.

an IED is not a car bomb, but I understand what you are trying to say. Then again to assume that an airstrike only kills the fighters... even with the most accurate bombs there will be collateral, a hollow word that makes it seem acceptable. war is war, there are no rules and therefore no morality.

There is morality, and you can determine the moral highground of the side based on their intent. If the US had the goal of just killing innocent civilians like the insurgents have, then Iraqi would cease to exist. If the insurgents had the power that the US has, there would be millions of dead Iraqis.

I do not agree, the way you say it the Insurgents are not fighting the Americans, perhaps you think that the US soldiers are collateral from attacks on civilians. What you are talking about is called sectarian violence, it is the same thing as what happened in Ireland, Catholics vs. Prodistants. War is about killing, you can put as much spin on it as you want, but that is the core value of it, a value that is morally wrong.

War is bad, but engaging in a war doesn't mean both parties are on the same moral level. The insurgents specifically target civilians as a matter of their official policy. If they had the power the US has, or if the US had THEIR policy, there would be MUCH more death in Iraq than their is now. You cannot compare the US with the terrorists, even if you like to put all parties in a war in the same "wrong" category.
