Have you read Anarchy, State, and Utopia by Nozick? I think that's the classic argument for minarchism.

Anarcho-capitalism would create wealth and power in the hands of a few who would need statism to control the masses. I really don't see how its much different from any society, communist or even our own. Those that have wealth, power, and privilege seek to keep it though the subjugation of the lower classes.

Wealth, but not so much power. Remember, there is no government to lobby for protectionist legislation. Any power that an enterprise has over individuals is transient because there would be a healthy amount of competition.

You don't agree with the adage "wealth IS power"? I guess in theory, what you described is the way its supposed to work. In practice, however, isn't the easiest way to make sure that the power of an enterprise isn't transient is to establish government and protectionist legislation?

"Wealth is power" was undoubtedly first said by someone who lived under the state, and it will continue to be said by people who live under the state. And the idea that people will seek to create a state in a prosperous market anarchy is a little absurd to me. The kind of people who are involved in business are not the same kind of people who are involved in the state. This is especially true when there is no state. If there were no state, would you expect Bill Gates to try and create one?
